Abstract

This research aimed, first, to determine the activities of elderly group who already occurred, secondly, to identify institution work ethic "mikul duwur mendem jero" as a strategy for the preparation ofpatterns of community-based elderly care. According to the problems, the research uses the case study method, reinforced by the survey method Case study is a systematic investigation of a special case. Method survey conducted to obtain a general socio-economic conditions of elderly families and to establish the sources of information need This research uses descriptive research. The research was conducted in the Panembahan, Kraton District, Yogyakarta, by considering: : first, the area close to the center of Javanese culture, the palace, so gives contributes to influence people's behavior, secondly, people who live in that region are mainly indigenous people, so all households have elderly, third, mostly the elderly who reside in that region incorporated in the elderly group, so there is a container for assisting the elderly. The unit of analysis in this research is a family member who lives with elderly and they joined in the elderly group (RW), each RW represented each of the five families. Determination of the respondents carried through the stages of the document tracking number of elderly, the determination of the magnitude sample as respondent and respondent selection. The primary data obtained through observation, interviews and focus group discussions, secondary data was obtained through the recording and interpretation of the documents which contained in village office and community of elderly. The results showed, first, the implementation of the activities of elderly people in the RW of Panembahan are done once amonth to check health, counseling and exercise and do other activities such as recreation, various competitions, singing, vent elderly and the event of nursing home elderly. Oneform of' mikul duwur" is the involvement offamily members in the event that a cadre of healthy, accompany to their meeting, accompany to their recreation, secondly, the views of family members of the elderly who live in a relativly home. they do not mind, and it took positive attitude as: have a time for the elderly, help the elderly needs, do not tell shortage so that it made the condition of the elderly more healthy and cheerful. Third, institutional ethics "mikul duwur mendem jero", has been institutionalized every people who live in village of Panembahan, so that the welfare of the elderly is the responsibility of the family and society. It can be seen from the reverence of family members and the community in treating the elderly in all its activities. Keywords: Ethics-Care-Elderly
