Abstract

This Study aims to Know Whether the family Empowerment and welfare (PKK) has Sosialized and Internalized the family quality and character building, what factor did theyencounter in the internalization and socialisation of family quality and character building,what strategy of capacity building used by PKK and achieving family quality and character building.This research conducted in the district of Gedongtengen,Yogyakarta. using qualitative phenomenology with observation, in-depth interviews, documentations and focus Group Discussion techniques,the data were collected from motivators team, administrators and member of PKK as well as local residents. The result show that eventhough the administrators had not been trained with character education yet, they said they had already done character building for young people and families. Howefer, the analysis results indicate that the informants' knowladge on Character building had not been comprehensive yet. Consequenly, the character building still has not reached the expected goals. the capacity building for PKK and the synergy between schools and community in the character building need to be done. PKK as a Role Model in family quality and character building can be a complished if it is supported by the Govermental city, related local Goverment Offices,private sectors,universities, and society and society as a whole.
