Abstract

Abstract Pageharjo village in Samigaluh, Kulon Progo, has the potential nto produce talas taro (umbi talas) as many as 140 tons per year which in general, the people sell it in raw materials and therefore, at low prices. The purpose of this PKM service was to empower people in processing talas taro into various food products. The method in this community service wasapplying participatory approach which has activity stages to two target groups as our partner: Kusuma and Lestari Maju. The result of this activity was that the partners followed all stages and have practiced in making talas taro cake. In conclusion, changes in the partner’s perspective of talas taro as a source of economic improvement is their motivation to do entrepreneurship, and responded to the community service activities by showing of high level of attendance at each stage of the activities and they were able to practice talas taro processing.
