Abstract

The aims of this research is to explore poverty from the perspective of farmer household income distribution in Sumberagung district. The question addressed in this study is how the discrepancy of farmer household income distribution in the village. in Sumberagung district, which adopts the Supra Insus (Supra Intensifikasi Khusus or farming intensification), the farmer manage thier farming in farmers' group units, cooperating either among group members or among farmer groups. The method used in this research is a descriptive analytic one. Sixty farmers' households were selected systematic random sampling technique, while the analysis techniques used the gini formula. The result of this study indicated that farmers household income distribution in Sumberagung district was uneven. The inequality or discrepancy the farmer household income distibution occured because the agricultural activities in Sumberagung village were not supported or complemented by non farming activities such as those from the agroindustry sector. The combination of farming and non-farming activities if any, should have had multiplier effect to better farmer household income distribution.
