Abstract
Using data from the research on "Human-Empowerment and the Development Planning Design of the Vocational Training Center (BLK)",in Balangan Region, the Province of South Kalimantan, this study attempts to examine the extent to what people admit "BLK" in dealing with the poverty elimination. The findings show that the admittance and sustainability of "BLK" mostly related to the respondent's values system and his/her social economics status. The Pearson Correlation findings show that sex, age, ethnicity, and marital status were positively related to the educational value index. Ethnicity, education level, primary and secondary incomes were negatively related to the reputation value index. Marital status and secondary jobs were positively related to the reputation value index. Education, marital status, and primary job were positively related to the family value index. Primary and secondary incomes were negatively related to the family value index. Sex and family relationship were negatively related to the entrepreneurship value index. Ethnicity and marital status were positively related to the entrepreneurship value index. The Multiple Linear Regression results show that there was no single factor affecting the education and entrepreneurship value indexes. Age had a significant positive relationship with the reputation and the family value indexes.
