Abstract

Local wisdom and some times same the meaning of local indigenous, is the knowledge and technology which are in the memory and conducted by people and developed by them in certain condition, usually for making solution of local problem. In rural area, there are many problems of agriculture and disaster, for instance infertile land, low productivity, lack of water, flooding, earth quake, eruption, etc. People have local wisdom for making sustainable of agriculture and solution of their problem. In Indonesia, there are 'some cases, for example: case in Papua, West Sumatera, Kalimantan, West Java, Central Java, Sulawesi. Besides, case of food security with local wisdom, local wisdom for organic forming: delivering the basic of social transformation. In Papua, Arfak tribe hove knowledge that land fertile for cassava planting is black or red and sandstone. In Solok Regency, West Sumatero, there are "Baralek Kapalo Bonda" ritual, this ritual conducted before planting, there are ceremonial, working together for improving irigation, give spirit for farming. This activities actually for making solution of agricultural problem, so they can sustain in farming. In Kalimantan, the arrival dry season is an important matter for the farmer of wet land. The natural fenomena become the sign of dry season. Also in other regions, they have different local wisdom. All of those are local wisdom as basic of sustainable agriculture and solution to overcome disaster.
