Abstract

Polaman Hamlet, Argorejo Village, Sedayu District, Bantul Regency, is a hamlet that has implemented an agricultural method with a participatory concept, meaning that it is the farmer who plans and determines the type of farming business that will be carried out. This method is done to raise the motivation of farmers to empower themselves. The focus in this paper is to see the participation of Sedyo Makmur farmer groups in empowering the potential of existing local resources both in agriculture and plantation fisheries. The purpose of writing this paper is to describe: participation of farmer groups in development planning, articipation of farmer groups in the implementation of development, participation of farmer groups in the utilization of development results, participation of farmer groups in development evaluation, To determine the form of farmer group participation, 3 respondents were determined, namely the Head of the Farmer's Group, the Chair of the Women's Farmer's Group and the Farmer's Group. From the results of research using interview techniques obtained information that, the advantage of using the participatory development model is that the community is directly involved so that the program runs. such as what has been outlined/established. Honesty is tested because the supervision is on the citizens. Community responsibility for the success of the program. Facilitate the achievement of the objectives of the program. Because it is a joint program, if there are obstacles and obstacles, it is a shared responsibility. The sustainability of the program is more guaranteed when compared to development that does not involve the community (aid development program). Communities can immediately enjoy the results of development. The economy improves because jobs are available and profits from business.
