Abstract

This shrdyfuiesto reveal the process of socie.economic tansformation and ib imprct on nrral communities in Pendovoharjo village. This research is aimed at describing the effects of the socioeconomic hansformation on the quality of human resources, particularly the efforts of residents in the village of Pendowoharjo to improve the quality of life, in depth. The techniques of collecting data are obser',ation, interr.rials, documentation and FGD to all Perdorpoharjo stakeholders. Then, the data obtained were amXtza qualitatively by taking an interprehative approach, and then smmd up. From the ana$sis, it is concluded that the socio-economic transformation has led to the improvement of the quality of human resor-rcesthrough leaming process in the interaction among the citizens, especbnyftrough the process of wbanization. The societyhas changed a lot in terms of quality of hfe, but less follorped fu the institrnionalization of these changes, thw weakaning local instihrtions in the village. In the case of Pendowoharjo village, the clranges are inffturced h7 two main factors, namely: (1) intemal-rural conditions with the change in the local communip's orientation or in their rational domain of awareness that has drasticafu changed, (2) the infhrerrce of srpra*uillage (o<temal which can come from the govemment (the shate)and the expansion ofcapihl that terds to dominate.
